“Ewan is such an extraordinary performer, able to call on such a range of his gifts as singer, dancer, actor, deviser - a perfect choice” - Frankie Armstrong, folk singer
In 2023, Ewan was commissioned to write and perform a verbatim theatre piece for folk clubs and theatres by Dr. Sam Carroll of Star Creative Heritage.
The hour long one-man performance is set in a London folk club in the early 1960s and draws on twenty-five oral history interviews recently collected for Sweet Thames: The London Folk Club Heritage Project.
Featuring song dance and even a talking horse the show received widespread acclaim at many of the main uk folk festivals and at the home of folk song and dance in London, Cecil Sharp house.
The project was made possible through the support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
